music therapy“Learn to behave.” With these simple words, a great sage of modern India, Swami Sri Yukteswar, exhorted his young disciple Mukunda [Paramhansa Yogananda] to respond to everyday life situations in the highest and most proactive way possible, and not to allow moods and negative emotions to cloud his judgment as to what the right course of action might be. Those of us who have tried to do this seriously know what a tall order it is!

Throughout his life, Swami Kriyananda, a direct disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda and composer of Ananda Music, did everything he could to help people by making his guru’s teachings accessible to them. He realized that his music, inspired from a high state of consciousness, could  be used to powerfully redirect one’s energy and change specific negative emotions into positive ones. He therefore assigned antidotes to many of his songs. There are music antidotes for anxiety, depression, anger, hurt feelings, low self-esteem, discouragement, jealousy, and many more.

Sound intriguing? Well, stay tuned because very soon you’ll have the opportunity not only to learn more about these music antidotes, but to experience them for yourself through weekly live sessions on our Ananda Music Facebook page.* There will also be audio downloads available, so you can start creating your own personal library of music antidotes.
